City of Long Beach: Open House

The City of Long Beach Toastmasters International cordially invites you to attend its Open House!

Are you afraid to speak in front of an audience?  Would you like to build your speaking skill? Have you always wanted to know what Toastmaster is about?

Toastmasters support each other in learning how to give a speech, think on our feet, and exercise leadership skills. We invite you to learn about Toastmasters at a fun, educational event, including a mini-Toastmasters meeting and plenty of time for networking and Q&A.

Event:             Open House –  The City of Long Beach Toastmasters

Date:              Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 from 12:15pm – 1:15pm

Location:        LB Police Department Community Room, 400 W. Broadway, Long Beach, CA  90802.

We will share a sample speech and evaluation, demonstrating how we give constructive feedback on different elements of a speech (body language, word choice, speaking within a time limit). You’ll also get to see a demonstration of our impromptu speaking challenge, Table Topics.

Feel free to stop by and sit in on a regular meeting, which takes place on Thursdays, in the Main Library Meeting Room 1 during the same time listed above. Come on out and give a speech, learn and have fun.  Open to all interested parties (you do not need to be a resident or City employee to attend).

Parking is available in the structure on the corner of Broadway and Chestnut (first 30 minutes free).

Light refreshments will be served.
